Dear you,

You changed me
I’m a different person because of you
Like a seed compared to a tree
I grew
And you?
Well you must have missed the sprinklers,
Because now you are about as useless as a seed beneath the dirt.

That night.
Green poison.
What was it?
An altered state of mind that convinces you to commit mindless behavior
In love
In thought
Maybe he really does like me….
But why would he lie
About that night
“Nah man, she’s a freshman”
Music to his crews’ ears
Just what they wanted to hear
“I would never even try that”
“She’s probably never even kissed a boy”
Wrong
“Dude, why is she going around telling people that. I would never”
Wrong again.
You would
And you did
But I guess a senior with game
Can never spit the truth

Now you speak to me
“If I would happen now it would be different”
“I never meant to hurt you”
“I was stupid”
Doubt it
The stupidity part is right though.
Stupid to think I fell in love with you,
A senior boy only looking to ‘get some’,
After that night.
That one selfish, painful night,
Full of regret,
Like a woman laying next to a man,
While her circle of unity is elsewhere,
Where she can’t find it,
Where she doesn’t want to find it
But I, on the contrary, fell in hate
Denying me was mistake #1
Mistake #2?
Underestimating me.
