If You Drop An Oreo
Someone told her,
A long time ago
That if you drop an oreo
Five times,
It will crack.
Someone told her,
Not too long ago,
That if you don’t water a plant
For twelve days,
It will wither.
Someone told her,
Just yesterday,
That if you hammer a nail into a fence,
It will leave a mark.
Today she told someone,
That the plant could be watered,
And the nail didn’t have to be hammered,
And the oreo could be left alone...
But that also,
That every twenty-four hours,
Marks the end of a day.
