Saints And Addicts
There is ash in my eyes,
In my mouth and nose,
I am breathing you in.
The scent of you on me
Jasmine in a bottle
We bought in Jaipur
And you laughed.
And I know how you died,
But I lied to your parents,
And told them you were sick-
And you were- in the head, in my blood
Flowing, pumping through
My heart.
When I see your face
You are laughing crying
Screaming your pleasure pain in my ear
I have jumped from building to building
Like a super- hero, saint, addict,
From drug to drug
Trying to forget that day
When it rained and there were ashes
From the girl before you
And I was clean then
But you were not and when I met you
I met heroin and its beauty
I met heroin and you and I
Fell in love.
Breathing in your ashes,
I still don’t know with which.
