Her collarbones are sewn up with bright red thread,
the thread that winds and tangles and flows across skyscrapers and rivers and deserts,
the thread that connects to the sewn up wrists
of the one that will kiss her sunken ribs
and leave hand prints on her heart.


The author's comments:
In case anyone is confused, the sewn up wrists represent self-harm, and the sewn up collarbones are meant to be an eating disorder, because I know that one of the goals is to be able to see your collarbones.
