The manic pixie dream girl
is just that - a dream, only
ever caught in eye corners
and fleeting hopes. There is
no Clarisse, no Summer, the
girl next door is a figment of
our collective imaginations,
an embodiment of our desires.
We want to see the world
through the eyes of a dreamer
but we can’t get our feet off the
ground. If we could only fly,
we’d never land, but we’re too
scared to jump. Our wax wings
are no match for society’s sun.
