Shards of Me

My heart cries out to the world,
but my mouth doesn’t say a word.
Then I wonder why
I can never be heard.
My eyes are blinded by lies;
seeing is no longer believing.
So in the dark I hide,
but the dark can be deceiving.
My mind yearns for freedom,
But the pressure weighs me down.
It’s a physical strain
that equivalents to being drown.
My soul feels so scattered.
Shards of me are all around.
Can I be put back together?
Only time will tell.
