Favorite Quote:
Poetry is the soundtrack to my life, the lyrics are my thoughts accompanied by the melody of my emotions.

Tiny seashells tucked in my ears
Twenty hours a day
I hear loud noise
Yet no waves of the sea instead
I hear my escape
Every day and night I
Fill my ears with rap and ballads
Anything but the constant fighting
They wonder what I’m listening to
Anything but you I reply
They don’t hear me and the music continues
I cling to my two strands of hope
Like a rope ladder reaching somewhere I can’t climb to
Two buds, blooms before bloom
Carry me to faraway lands
Where love exists and joy can be found
Just me and the sound on an island
I hear the stories, wishing they were mine
The music is transporting, transforming
I need to listen I want to create.

The author's comments:
This is a poem I wrote to express my appreciation for music and how crucial it has been as therapy and relaxation for myself. This is honest and tells a love story between the sound waves of life and my broken heart.
