"Shine"
Can a star lose its shine?
Like a glint of fire cascading to earth’s surface in shame,
Submerged in the trepid waters of ocean brine.
A thriving yellow star set out for purposes divine,
Entrapped by the darkness suppressing her flame-
Can a star lose its shine?
Collapsing in the shadows, the dim and bright combine.
Tensions build, and the stars one another blame.
Submerged in the trepid waters of ocean brine.
Trembling as it awaits the clouds’ thick line-
Enveloped in the mist, it receives no acclaim.
Can a star lose its shine?
Only in darkness can a star refine,
But swindling in a cloud, its hope may not proclaim,
Submerged in the trepid waters of ocean brine.
Creeping out from its pain may redefine,
With a defiant response to fear, then captured, and made lame.
Can a star lose its shine?
Submerged in the trepid waters of ocean brine.
