Cold Hard Truth
When your frosty and cold lips came apart
They spewed hard words that broke my icy heart
You shattered my one and only good soul
On that day, my words seemed to take a toll
I could not think of a witty comeback
Left me speechless, unable to attack
I watched your boots retreat through falling snow
Trudging steps made a sound in the echo
Somehow, it was only me who got hurt
I had no time to pain you with mean words
But the next day you say you were sorry
Guess what? Don’t plead guilty to the jury
I won’t back down to take away your blue
No matter what, won’t say, “I forgive you”.
