With a Chance of Clouds

Me without
you
is a
terrible, terrible
cloudy day
without
the rain

when you wake up
and peer outside the window
and all there is
is cloud after cloud

so you accept the weather
and look
forward
to the rain
the rain that washes and pours
over
the world—cleansing and distilling

but me without
you
is a
day when that rain Never comes

and there’s no promise of colors
from the
sky just
cloud after cloud

cold, dark, chilling, eerie,
sad,
terrible, terrible
