Missing Elegance
I am not a picture of elegance,
I am covered with scars, and stretch marks,
Tendrils of hair are consistent with the nose in my book,
My fingers will never be cleaner than a fresh essay,
Or an angry painters canvas,
My curves are paralleled to my midnight cravings,
and my three am cup of coffee,
I will always have bags under my eyes,
because I always break my promise
I can never stop reading a good book,
or stop writing my life down
I don’t want life to wash me away,
I want to be remembered,
awake, not asleep.
