Caged Bird

She urges to runaway,
Urges to break free,
Urges to leave her life behind her.

No consideration
No choices
No freedom
She lies in her room, bored, alone
Mom will not let her explore
She does not know reality and the world
As a caged bird does not know nature

Peering through the clouded window
She questions what its really like to be a carefree teenager
Wandering aimlessly in the bustling streets or greeting strangers
She will never know

She looks to the right corner of her room and notices the cage
The cage her canary once was trapped in
Once was locked in
Away from the world and away from reality
But had flew away from the cage
Wandering the world and learning as he went

As she packs her bags she thinks of her used-to-be pet
How she trapped him
Hid him from the outside
She jumps from the window
Leaving a note for her mom, "I am finally free"
