Goodbye
I wish for You to be here
For when I cry
To wipe away the tears
To hug me closer, and whisper to me
Sweet reassurance.
For when I feel hurt,
To comfort me
And tell me that everything will be
Okay.
Sweet reassurance.
For when all I want is to escape reality
Permanently
To remind me that life is
Precious
And that Death isn't a solution.
Sweet reassurance.
But you aren't here.
Or there.
Perhaps I haven't found You yet.
Or You have left.
So I say
Farewell to You
And say my last goodbyes
For I am like a stool-
I cannot stand without you
You were my support.
My other leg.
Now I'm unsteady on my feet
And as I lie here,
I say
Goodbye.
