I am here with you
But you don’t notice me
You stare straight through my bones
Tapping your fingers idly
I’m right here
I’m screaming
“Why won’t you listen?”
But you never flinch
I am invisible
I exist only in dead memories
Pushed to the back of your brain
As I fight for my place in your heart
You push me out
To make room for her
And all her perfection
I scramble for my corner
And cover my head
To protect from your blows
Mixed in with my own
Not pretty enough
Not skinny enough
Not funny enough
