Tis the season for love and joy.
The time for Christmas trees and snow.
When children play with their new toys,
their faces light up and glow.

Tis the season for children playing and building a snow man.
The ice crystals hanging from the roof sparkle in the light.
Even the Scrooge would be a joyful man,
when Santa came Christmas Eve night.

Tis the season for Christmas cooking.
It is the time for carving the ham and eating.
The children are at the toy store just looking.
Receiving in the mail cards of Christmas greeting.

Tis the season for a silent night,




the night that Jesus was born.
The star shone in the sky so bright.
That time was the first Christmas morn.

Tis the season for the three wise men,
coming to Bethlehem to see the baby in the manger.
Were he was laid with animals in a quite den.
Only to leave to escape from the danger.

Tis the season for holiday traveling.
The time to wear that special Christmas sweater,
at the Christmas family gathering.
Then, when it’s all done, writing thank you letters.

Tis the season for falling snow flakes.
The children go riding down the hill on the sled.
As the turkey in the oven bakes.
Soon they would be sound asleep in their beds.

Tis the season for the story of the Grinch who Stole Christmas.
For Ebenezer Scrooge saying “bah humbug” and, for greed.
Perhaps we shall get coal in our stockings if we don’t bring glory.
A time to give to those more in need.

Tis the season for lighting the Christmas candle.
Hanging ornaments on the tree.
A nativity scene sitting on the mantle.
The Christmas wreath and centerpieces are nice to see.

Tis the season for ones religion.
For winter celebrations of: Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Winter Solstice.

Tis the season for a blizzard or a snowstorm.
For snow ball fights and snowman poop.
While we are inside lying by the fire all cozy and warm.
When it’s time to go back to school, the kid’s faces droop.

Tis the season for presents and gift wrap.
Creating winter arts and crafts and a tree for trimming.
Then, it is time for a long nap.
Having more happiness in giving then receiving.

Tis the season for last minute Christmas shopping.
The time for crowded stores.
While the prices after Christmas are dropping.
On Christmas, some places close their doors.

Tis the season for elves.
For Santa and Rudolph the Red nosed reindeer.
When stores restock their shelves.
The time for holiday cheer.

Tis the season for chestnuts roasting over an open fire.
For fruit cake, Christmas cards and mistletoe.
The time for the Christmas buyer.
When children’s faces glow.

Tis the season for the Night before Christmas.
Putting out cookies and milk for Santa.
For waking up the next morning and opening presents.
The time to listen to Christmas music.

Tis the season for after Christmas sales.
The time for returning or exchanging gifts.
For taking down the decorations.
New Years Eve has come.

Tis the season for Christmas, snow toys
and presents and on and on.
Winters eve has now come.


The author's comments:
Christmas time is my most favorite time of the year as, it is for a lot of people. I wanted to write of the joy Christmas brings.
