Elixir of Hope
He takes one cup of the Elixir of Hope
And he washes it down, grimacing as though it were soap
Hoping it will be just enough to get him home
He didn't even notice that it began to foam
False hope like his is poison to the blood
That will leave you drowning in a hole filled with mud
You are left grasping for something, anything
Anything to help you escape this burning sting
That left him hopeless of the world he lives in
The one where no one is pure of sin
So he takes the Elixir of Hope
Hoping to either die in this world or learn how to cope
