Daydream
Underneath the swaying trees
I stood ‘till I began to sway
Sinking down upon my knees
I wallowed in my own dismay
I came to hear the birds call
An to listen to their cries
But the beauty made my heart fall
And brought tears to my eyes
The sun shone through the branches
Filled with sallow doubt
I crouched amongst a golden world
Desperate to get out
I shut my eyes to brilliant sorrow
When the sharpness was too much
Plunging into darkness
I could feel his gentle touch
His eyes were bright and kind
His atmosphere was calm
He brought me peace of mind
While tracing lines on my palm
He wove his fingers through my hair
Sending shivers down my spine
I could no longer stand to bear
To think he wasn’t mine
Through my eyes he knew my thoughts
He whispered in my ear
Hot breath and lips that grazed my neck
He said, “I love you dear”
My eyes were open once again
I saw the world anew
The brilliance of the world I saw
Was no longer askew
The sun had gone down long ago
The stars shone brightly then
The moon gave off an efferent glow
And life was clear again
