Dad, I just wanted to tell you
Life where you left me hasn’t been a paved road
Since you left
The nights have been long
Sleepless
Hard.
But I always get up
Face another day
Life without you hasn’t been easy
It hasn’t been fun
There have been times when I yell at the picture of you
The one I hide under my bed
Covered in tape from the times I’ve ripped it up.
I hate you, but I can’t let you go
You need to know
Life where you left me hasn’t been a paved road.
