It’s difficult to lay out your palms
And ask the gypsy with the orange
Shawl to burn the maps on your skin
And frost your fate amongst Andromeda
And Narcissus and Hercules and of course
Pegasus, but we ask her to do it anyways.
I am so afraid of her silver eyes—
They glint blankly like the knife I use to
Carve my name into things I’ve never owned.
