Johnny Has His Wings Now MAG
Johnny likes to sing
and play cowboys in his room
but he doesn't like to be alone.
So he'll ask the walls to join him
So he can be the hero.
But Johnny doesn't know
he's not alone.
There's a secret in the closet
waiting for a cowboy
to open the door
so he can play along.
But Johnny took too long,
so the secret broke free,
angry and tired
of letting Johnny be.
So he climbed out of the window
with little Johnny in his arms.
And Johnny couldn't run
'cause he left his chair beside his bed
Under his race-car sheets.
Now Johnny's mother cries herself to sleep
'Cause it's been a month
since he's been in her arms.
One morning she wakes
To find Johnny's cowboy hat
Nestled beside her in her sheets
And she smiles under tearful eyes.
Johnny traded his cowboy hat
For a pair of angel's wings.
