What Lay Beyond
Nothingness
The final frontier
I can feel it
The end, oh so, near
Life is only for
A short time
A lifetime experience
Each person calls "mine"
I know it sounds bleak
And too well thought out
But I know, just like me
You are filled with great doubt
What lay beyond
Is there such a thing?
Will you one day
Hear the angels sing?
Or do we live on
Watching day by day
Watching life carry on
In it's unforgiving way
Too many things
Are left up to chance
Decisions are sharp;
Like tip of a lance
So is there truly something
Beyond this world
I wouldn't know
I'm just one girl
