"Acting isn't lying, it's behaving truthfully in false situations,"

The world doesn’t spin like that anymore,
The plagiarized idea we call storybooks,
All happy endings and pinky promises
You’re telling your children that’s real?
Telling them that unity is knocking on their door,
All you have to do is answer.
But the world doesn’t spin like that anymore.
A puzzle we try and make work
Never quite fits together, maybe it’s missing a piece.

They say necessity is the mother of invention,
But “united as one” is it’s killer,
Pushing and pulling us together.
Whitewashed faces,
They’ve forgotten how to scream.
Cover up job with a blanket and pillows, tell it to sleep
Unity is a dream we don’t yet have,
Difference makes us move around,
Feel the world beneath our feet like it’s not really there.

To agree is to stifle beauty at its source,
Like silence is our cover-up solution,
For what’s underneath,
Unity isn’t a solution; it’s a disclosure in the contract

If we stop the world will go on without us,
But it will miss the echo of our footsteps.
