Not You
Roses are red,
But Violets aren't blue.
You aren't mine.
I don't belong to you.
If by chance, I ever do,
I'll be faithful to you.
If by chance, you aren't too.
I'll let your face, meet my shoe.
I'll come back with a blue moon,
With only one thing to show you.
Look at my face, it's happy for once.
Look into my eyes, they're bright by choice.
Now look at my soul, it's full of light.
And look at my heart, now filled with delight.
It was broken and abused,
Corrupted, confused!
Each person I met after you,
Had a part in healing my wound.
Each friend was a band aid,
Covering my holes.
Each family a kiss,
That my heart now holds.
And now my new love,
Is the piece that I've missed.
With every touch,
My heart gets another stitch,
Soon it will be done,
And I'll never belong to you again.
Roses are red,
But Violets aren't blue.
I belong to him now,
Not to you.
