Hold her
fold her in your arms close
like when you told her
low and forever
when together
is such a strong word
don’t scare away your birds
of a feather
still
kiss her
till she feels like flying
you’re trying
too hard to be something you’re not
as if somehow she forgot
the past
and how last time
you let her go
she does know
she just doesn’t care
so wear
your heart on your sleeves
she’s not trying to tease
when she shows up in a matching shirt
she still loves you
so hold her
