Wonderful Moon

If I am a moon you are a star
If I am a wave you are my sand
If I am a leaf you are my ground
If I am a lost you are my home
If I am lonely you are my friend
If I am down you are my up
If I am
I am that moon you see in space
I am the dog and it’s you I trace
But I can never measure up to you
I feel a wide gap that cannot be fixed.
But such a difference it would be
If the wonderful moon did not exist
