Bam
Emergency exits are for leaving
Yet they could not leave
He stood in their way
Was the red neon light still glowing?
Bam
What about when the smoke filled the room?
And the alarms went off
And the people began to scream
And Batman on the screen couldn’t save them
As the dark knight fired
Bam
And then the monster in his hands
Began to jump and writhe and bark
And the people fell into their chairs and
The aisles ran with blood
Bam
What about the six - year - old girl?
Did she even know what it was, the
Steel shiny in the man’s hands as it punched her backwards
Gas mask leering like every nightmare
Bam
They wore gas masks at Chernobyl
They barely worked at all, and so many people died
They wore gas masks during World War Two
They barely worked at all and so many people died
But I think it will work this time
Because there was only one
and many people died
Bam
And the audience fell as the Dark Knight rose
And a dark night fell as the audience rose
