“A man, who has no conscience, no goodness, does not suffer.”

Let there not be a light,
The harsh blinding light of injustice.
Let there not be one who thinks wrong of the me,
When really it is own hatred that stings.

Let none tell me that I cannot,
Let none say that there shall not be,
Let none bar the path I am meant to take,
Though you fill with lust and envy.

Do not say that I shall not succeed,
Do not tell me I have no strength,
no passion,
with the strength that echoes off the crystal walls of my soul.

I will not give in to your hate.
Do not think you can overpower my will,
In your lust and power,
That makes you chain me to the ground,
and push me into the earth,
I shall take that dirt in my hand and let it drift through my fingers,
and let the wind take its fury on you,
for mother earth is on my side.

Beat me all you can,
and glare at me from afar,
But all your jeers and taunts pass me by,
You will scream at my face,
and I will laugh.

To step on me and pile on me,
Your vain attempts to hold me down,
shall not take away my hopes and dreams,
I shall lift your bodies up,
and carry them with me,
on the upward hill,
and I will not fall back.

Then I will succeed,
I will find you beaten and battered,
and help you up,
Because no person deserves a life of shame,
and the good thing about life,
is it always gives a second chance.
