The Way It Goes
And so,
I walk down my lone path,
Passing by blue skies and green meadows
And through towering forests
And along sunlit beaches of white sand
Trekking up crumbling mountains
Only to end up sinking back into the ground
Where my path ends.
Perhaps our paths shall cross and continue for a distance,
And together, we’ll walk past lush meadows
And dark woods and jagged cliffs
And sunsets at the ocean shore many
But it shan’t be eternity till the seam of our paths tears –
For you walk down your own lone path
And I walk down mine.
