Slipped
I bounce my foam ball
Against the walls of our house
(Hoping that I don’t make a mark)
I catch it now again, more times than I have ever done
I’m getting into the rhythm of it, the flow
I think that I can do this now
Like the cool people on T.V.
I hope that I don’t drop it
Don’t ruin it
I think that it is going well
But I am too confident
Too careless
And then I miss
And it drops down onto my dresser
And bangs into our family photo
The photo falls face down
I try to stand it back up right
But it looks a little crooked
I can’t put it back the way it used to be
The foam ball has rolled out of sight.
