Not Yet That Man
It’s in my heart to forgive you
But my bruised ego
The painful memories that linger
Just won’t let me move on
It would be nice to say your name
Without my heart dropping to my stomach
Reliving what you did to me over the years
But relief is still so far away
I’m not sure if you can comprehend
The complexity of my mixed emotions
That I feel towards you
But it would help if you could just say sorry
The fact that you don’t take ownership
Of your mistakes
Or are in any way trying to correct them
Says you don’t care and this is a waste of time
It’s in my heart to forgive a man
That wants to be forgiven
At this time I strongly believe
That you aren’t that man
