Dance For The Last Night
The last night,
He knew it.
The last night,
She knew.
As the lights flashed,
He held her tight.
As the lights flashed,
She held him with all her might.
As the heat passed,
He whispered his final somber words.
As the heat passed,
She shed not a tear.
As the light faded,
He held her close.
As the light faded
She admited her love for him the most.
After the light was gone,
He waited for her on the floor.
After the light was gone,
She took his hand to dance like they did when they were young.
The youth,
Envied him for his charm.
The youth,
Envied her for him.
In the dark,
He held her tight to him.
In the dark,
She held him close as she could.
Never alone,
He stays by her forever.
Never alone,
She is by his side always.
As the last day ends,
He is with her forever.
As the last day ends,
She is with him forever.
After the day ends,
They dance as they used to when they were young, the world full of life and energy, spectating in awe of the odd couple who seem to move as one.
