The Web
Words. Sentences. Phrases.
They started out gentle.
At first so nondescript,
They were casual in passing.
What happened?
Ideas. Metaphors. Expressions.
Food for thought,
And hungry spirits that we were,
We ate it up.
Where did it take us?
Thoughts. Feelings. Conversation.
We started to share them.
Who knew words could do so much?
Words from a person you've never met...
What is this?
Miles. Screens. Signals.
This invisible world
Bridges the distance
So that connected is our spirits.
Where are you?
Words. Letters. Keys.
Such intimate control
At the hands of this machine.
For better or for worse...
Did I delete reality?
