The Freedom of Writing
I’m drowning but no one helps me.
I scream but no one hears.
I long for the warmth of compassion but loneliness is all I receive.
When I try to run away I’m dragged back.
I kick I scream I wish I wonder.
The relief I get is through the magic of words.
Forming a portal to other realities other people,
I thrive in these worlds I flourish in their freedom.
The warmth of wonderment flows through me allowing happiness.
I write my own universe to fit my needs making up perfect friends and family I’ve never had.
It helps but at the end of the day I know I’m trapped in reality.
But I will always enjoy the freedom I’m able to make.
