Josh Hutcherson
I know it sounds kind of weird
I know we’ve never met each other
And I know you must hear this a thousand times a day
But God told me I was going to marry you.
It was really laid back; I was watching a basketball game
I had fallen asleep and at the half time mark,
Kansas was down when they played Kentucky
And God told me I was going to marry you.
I came to this conclusion when I went upstairs.
I knew Kansas had made comebacks after the half in their last few games
So I said “God, If I am to marry Josh Hutcherson, Kentucky will win.”
And God told me I was going to marry you.
When I woke the next morning, I couldn’t believe the news.
I had been so convinced of Kansas’ clinch on the victor’s spot
But Kentucky won the game, so I wanted it to be true.
That God had told me I was going to marry you.
Now I know it’s far-fetched, but all a girl has anymore are her dreams
The more realistic ones and the more fairytale-esque
I sort of hope this one will happen, though if it doesn’t I understand.
But still, God told me I was going to marry you.
Not only do I have divine intervention on my side,
But I have a sacred practice that answered the call
I picked it up one day and gave it a shake and a slide
And I got the same answer to my question from the Magic 8 Ball.
Now I know that these things are doubtful to say the least,
But I like to imagine myself every once in a while talking, just us two.
You seem like a pretty awesome person, and your acting is really beast.
And I like to think that God told me I was going to marry you.
I know it probably won’t happen, but it keeps me content
I know the probability of it all needs to get a clue
But I still like to think, sometimes, what God meant
Was that I was meant to love all people, maybe not just you.
So have a good day, and be kind to all.
And I will laugh about my silly magic 8 ball.
And I truly hope that you don’t find me odd
For asking a question as childish as that of God.
