I was like the gangly son, starving and desperate for his sports loving father's approval and attention.
I was the cat that brushes up against it's owners' legs, meowing softly and hoping that it will be pet and scratched behind the ears.
I was the woman in the back of the lecture hall that no one really notices until she attempts to slip softly out.
I was terrified or forgetting.
And of being forgotten.
But I was here.
I was around her in the air that she breathed.
She was the ocean, with waves crashing over, around and inside of me.
She was the ocean and I was the rock, frozen in time. Stuck in the middle of it and unable to escape any of it.

For Jenny.
