If life were easy, where is the adventure?
If you never leap, you will never know what it is like to fly.

I Like Chocolate, Not Alcohol

I’m the girl people pass in the hallways,
Never seen.
I’m the girl in the back of the room,
Never seen
I’m the girl with the story,
Never heard.

I like chocolate, not alcohol

No one sees me,
No one knows me,
Really knows me,
My real story.
Rumors only meet their ears,
Lies are belief.

I like chocolate, not alcohol

They won’t know who I am,
Until they hear my name.
They won’t see me,
Until they hear my name.
They won’t listen,
Until they hear my name.

I like chocolate, not alcohol

I am marked,
By my father’s shadow.
I am hidden,
By my father’s shadow.
I am covered,
By the shadow I can never shed

I like chocolate, not alcohol

They know his story,
Not mine.
They hear his voice,
Not mine.
They see his face,
Not mine.

I like chocolate, not alcohol

Am I horrible,
Because of him?
Am I evil,
Because of him?
Do I scare,
Because of him?

I like chocolate, not alcohol

He beats,
I do not.
He curses,
I do not.
He hurts,
I do not.
He drinks,
I do not.

I like chocolate, not alcohol

Please listen,
Please see,
Please hear my story,
Please see who I am.
Please look deeper.
My soul is clean.

I like chocolate, not alcohol

This was supposed to be a story, but in the end it was more of a poem!
