From Afar
From afar
Dilated brown pupils upon you happened
From there
Light hands but by no means weak
held mine
On the peach porch,
chairs glided forward and back
in harmonious sync
Up the rickety stairs
you claimed you would fix
Down the winding hallway
and left to the white-wooden door where our dreams of no-legged creatures
of four-legged creatures
and finally two-legged creatures
came true.
From afar
my african prince
From afar
I'll stay
To trek the desert
to receive
is to find my oasis
from afar
When I reach to sip
I'll only suck the sand
