--Abraham Lincoln

Whispers are being traded.
Questions are breaking out.
Many are unsure,
Others are without a doubt.
It’s the one way road with no limits,
And as we all know where it ends,
There are those certain ones,
Who think they can make it.

Plans are getting primed.
Decisions are being completed.
Even though lives are ending in flashes,
People are still hated.
With revulsion comes destruction
And it becomes every man for themselves.
Hunt or be hunted,
Take or be taken from.
You live with pride
Or you perish and are denied.
There is no grace,
There is no amenity.
The only sounds you will hear are the
The screams of inequity.

Mercy is being begged for.
Detestation is trickling
Down the spines of children.
Apprehension is seeping
Out of the eyes of the ethical.
It’s the one way road with no limits,
And as we all know where it ends,
There are those certain ones,
Who will die with it.

My best friend was in a gang. I never thought he would ever do that but he did. So I decided to get a sneak peek into what exactly goes on in the mind of a gangster. When I heard his story, I knew I had to write this down. This poem is what all I got from what he told me.
