Observer & Participant
Stereo pounds, pulses.
Car glides to a stop,
My awakened heart races.
Confidence in
Curls windblown,
Curves streamlines.
Eyes flick upwards,
He sees me,
I don’t acknowledge him.
The music dies,
But I am not alone.
He (different he, better he) arrives by my side.
His face lights up.
A smile for me,
And because of me.
Blue eyes crinkle,
Breath gone,
Soul melts.
Hand to my waist,
Lips to mine,
Heart to heart.
Happiness exemplified,
As he (lesser he) observes my life,
Better in his absence.
