What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

I wish I was a river.

I'd carry myself over the world that I once knew
Touch the new terrain of my life
And flow over the unfamiliar crevices of humanity.

I'd wash away yesterday's disappointments
And bring with me the hopes of tomorrow
The valleys would be my friends
The mountains, my shelter

I'd teach myself the new laws of the land
Embark on a journey to find myself
In the lost canyon of my existence.

I wish I was a river.
