What Ties Us?
The days are long,
Hard.
Some are short and sweet.
Mine are neither;
They are cherished, fun, long lasting.
Yours are long and taxing.
Full of routine,
While mine are full of surprises.
Yours are full of angst,
Mine of joy.
We’re totally different,
But the same in this:
We are both people,
Walking this planet,
Looking for joy,
Looking for sorrow.
Whatever we seek, it ties us.
