Forever in the Past
I moved when,
I was seven years old,
To California,
The state like gold.
People had said,
It was paradise,
But I always ended up,
Thinking twice.
About my life,
Had I stayed there,
Would it be different?
Was this an error?
Now I'm thirteen,
And I still think twice,
But what I think now,
Is I never paid the price.
For being stubborn,
For putting off change,
I can't believe it,
It's all so strange.
How quickly things became,
So much better,
Its a shame.
To think,
I might have stayed,
Forever focused,
On NJ.
