Your Toes
Poetry is about feelings, sure, but
I tire of reading
Long blocks of heartfelt emotion
Why not write about
The way you stick your toes out
While underneath your warm winter blanket
Because you like the feeling of
The cold’s sharp teeth
Nipping your outstretched appendages,
Reminding you of
How lucky you are
To have that warm blanket
In the first place?
