“If I lose the light of the sun, I will write by candlelight, moonlight, no light. If I lose paper and ink, I will write in blood on forgotten walls. I will write always. I will capture nights all over the world and bring them to you.” - Henry Rollins

Wrapped up courage
Given as a Christmas present
The overwhelming liveliness it offered
As each brilliant snowflake fell
They took their definitive paths
Guided along by the hands of God
I wish I were a snowflake

Lacking a definitive path
The snowflake compelled me to follow
For it was not my path
But the snowflake’s

The Judas cure
Allowing dilemmas to evaporate
Up into smoke
The Siberian winter
During that year
When aspirations were high
Allotted by you

A new wisdom
A new path
A new soul
Arising from the past
The burial of the mistakes
Misconstrued during the days
Of a childhood filled with angst

Through the Garden of Eden
Desolate and distant
The elder searches in dismay
For the fruit of knowledge
Suspended from the tree
Unattainable by the youth
No one can know the truth

To conflict listlessness
The ascension to the cemetery
The vengeance buries you
Condemning you to rot
Stomach down
Facing the wrong way inside of your coffin
Six feet underneath the ground
