Ponder as you Wonder

How is a raven like a writing desk?
Most do not know,
Yet others sit and wonder
Of the possibilities that show.
Both have a tale behind them,
That one day shall be told.
The two mysterious they are,
As you watch them from afar.
Here I lie before their eyes,
One stands dead while the other alive.
But their stare I feel burn through me,
While i glance at the life I've left behind.
Sitting here we await my judgement,
From the writing desk and the raven.
But who is that there controlling them,
Will i ever dare find out?
