Masquerade Life
Most live out their days not knowing
They attend the greatest masquerade
But reality is frowned upon
At this party
Many people cling desperately
To their masks, afraid of the rejection
Rumored to follow exposure
The Host
The Infamous Inventor of Deceit
Spends every moment coaxing people
Deeper into their false lives
But a few are brave, if only for a moment
They peek around their disguises
To catch a glimpse
Of something better
Once they have seen it
They crave it, call out for it
A Greater Strength rushes in
And the masks fall away
To be replaced with outstanding love
They walk among the masquerade
Tugging at false appearances
Hoping others will see the truth
But the Host is sadistic and cruel
Not wearing a mask
Means you are abused, ridiculed, despised
This twisted place will not prevail
Many will escape the Host's clutches
By calling on the Great Strength
One day, He will cast out the Host
And make everything right
In this mad world of ours
That is nothing more than a masquerade
