Favorite Quote:
Prose is like walking but poetry is like dancing.
—Paul Valery, poet (1871 - 1945)

Drip. Drop.
The clouds break.
Plip. Plop.
The rain slides through.
Plish. Plosh.
Droplets plummet down.
Slish. Slosh.
Two weary feet trudge on.
Dripple. Dropple.
The clouds dump their loads.
Ripple. Ropple.
Puddles form.
Slick. Slack.
Pathways turn to mud.
Slip. “Oh, my back!”
Soaked, now filthy too.
Pant. Pant.
Rising from the ground.
Trant. Trant.
There is still a long way to go.

The author's comments:
We were driving to my wiritng club one rainy day. Everyone was in there cars trying to get somewhere. But there was some poor soul who was trudging along through the rain and puddles as we drove by, with no umbrella, so he/she was absolutely soaked.
