Farewell
Atop his head, I place
The cap from his uniform
His eyes shine with pride
But are tinted with fear
As I bid my love farewell
A long embrace
Our hearts full of sorrow
My last gift to him
Is the sweetest kiss
As I bid my love farewell
Hours later, the plane takes off
Carrying him to a faraway land
I wave sadly
And though he can't see
I bid my love farewell
Months later, I hold the page
Signed by his captain
Stained by my tears
This is the final time
I bid my love farewell
