Hey Poppy! Push me, push me!
The young girl yells excitedly,
As she rushes to the swing.
Will you hand me that wrench?
The grandfather asks the girl
As he fixes the car.
Now, smile for the camera
Says the grandfather proudly
As the girl switches her tassel
Bye Poppy. I’ll see you soon
Says the girl as she drives away
As she heads towards college
Hey Poppy! How are you?
The woman asks the man
As he lays in the hospital bed
And tears come to her eyes
At the memories that come to mind
As she watches him fade away.

My grandfather is very sick. I just kind of wanted to write this about he and I.
