i am vanity
for my long dark hair
is all I need
and my rosy cheeks
bring me all the happiness
in the world
yet as i stare at my reflection
i wonder
could i turn away
from my cold hard mirror-self
to look at you
and would it be worth it
to live
staring into your eyes
instead of my own
even though
your strong hands
are capable
of shattering glass
